District Update – November 5, 2020

November 5, 2020

Good Morning, Madison Families:

Last night, the Madison School District held our monthly review of our Extended COVID-19 Preparedness and Learning Plan.  At that meeting, the district decided to continue our Friday half day in-person/distance learning model through Thanksgiving break. Extending the current model this length of time will bring us to the end of the first trimester.  Elementary Learning Labs will be offered on November 6th and 13th.  However, an Elementary Learning Lab will not be offered on November 20th as this was already scheduled as an exam/records day.

Currently, the Madison School District has a survey out to our high school families providing them the opportunity to select their model of learning for the second trimester. If you are a parent of an elementary or middle school student(s) and would like to return to in-person learning please contact your building office to speak directly with the building administrator. Once we have collected this data, the district will meet again to review our Extended COVID-10 Preparedness and Learning Plan and make any necessary adjustments for the second trimester.

Lastly, our solar field is finally ready to be hooked into our electrical system!  We are extremely excited for this to be complete.  The addition of our solar panels will further reduce our operational costs allowing us to put more dollars directly into the classrooms.  In order for the installation to be complete, the district’s power will need to be shut off for a six hour window.  We have scheduled this power outage for Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 10:00-6:00.  At this time, our servers will be down causing district email to not be accessible.  Furthermore, it may impact your ability to access our learning management system (Canvas). We apologize for the inconvenience.

Go Trojans!
