Hello, Madison School District Family!

I hope that everyone had a restful summer. We have started to settle into the 2024-2025 school year, and I am extremely excited for the students' growth! The Madison School District has earned a reputation for academic excellence, and the opportunities offered beyond the classroom setting are exemplary. As an educator, I sincerely value the programs and services that we have in place, and I am committed to building upon past practices to ensure that current and future students have opportunities to delve into their interests and find their true passions.

A little about me…prior to coming to Madison, I was the Superintendent of the Manchester Community Schools. Before that, I spent five years in the Upper Peninsula as an elementary principal in Ironwood and the Assistant Superintendent for the Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District. Personally, I grew up in metro Detroit (Royal Oak), have been married to my wife (Sara) for almost 16 years, and we have three daughters (Reagan, Hadley, and Emery). When I am not working, I enjoy mountain biking and fly fishing.

While serving as Superintendent, I plan to be accessible to all stakeholders and maintain an open door communication policy. I value getting to know people on both a professional and personal level. Our experiences help shape us into the people that we are, and I love hearing about them all! I encourage and welcome any questions, comments, or concerns you have about our schools and can be reached directly at 517-265-1856 or nick.steinmetz@madisonk12.us

Educationally yours,
Nick Steinmetz
