Important Announcement Regarding Prom

Hello Madison Families,

On Tuesday, June 30 Governor Whitmer released guidance for school districts regarding the current COVID19 situation. In addition to this release, to protect the public’s health and well-being, the Lenawee County Health Department has provided public information of the concerning trend of increased COVID19 positive cases in Lenawee County. Health Officer Martha Hall states “Many of those positives attributed to recent travel history or a history of attending gatherings. Positives in Lenawee have grown from 1.5 cases per million on June 20 to 20.3 new cases per million on June 27, which puts Lenawee in the medium-high risk category. Disregarding advice intended to protect health and safety of the community will lead to increasing numbers of cases and likely additional deaths.” This information prompts concern for the health and safety of our Madison students and families.

Unfortunately with this new information, we regret to inform you that the Senior Prom has been cancelled. As upsetting as this news is, we want you to know that this decision was not made lightly, and we had hoped we could still hold this memorable event. We sincerely apologize for the great inconvenience this will cause our students and families. Madison High School remains committed to ensuring the health and safety of our students, staff, and community.

In the event that a student has purchased a prom ticket they will be refunded the full amount. If you have any questions, please email or
