COVID-19 Update from Lenawee County Superintendent Association – March 13, 2020

Good Afternoon, Madison Family.

Please, refer to the document attached at the bottom of the page for the Lenawee County Superintendent Association’s statement regarding the COVID-19 school closures.

As you have heard, the Governor has mandated all K-12 schools being closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 through April 6, 2020 due to COVID-19.  All of Lenawee County is scheduled to be off on Spring break the week of April 6th and returning to school April 13th. I know that this situation presents families with a multitude of different questions. To be completely honest, we are still waiting for answers and direction from the State on many of these issues, but I do want to convey what we do know so far:

  • Food Service: We know how important our breakfast and lunch programs are to our families.  We will be sending out a survey on Monday, March 16, 2020 to identify which students/families would like to receive bagged lunches and breakfast during our closure.
  • Curriculum: At this time, the schools within the county will not be providing a guided curriculum during the closure.  This may change.  However, at this time we encourage you to read with your student and implement any enrichment activities you may have access to.
  • Athletics/Extra Curricular Activities: ALL events, practices, and gatherings that were scheduled to be held in the district are cancelled until the district re-opens.

Thank you for your understanding and patience through this time. The Madison School District will continue to update you as we gather more information.  Please, stay safe and healthy!  Go Trojans!
