MADISON TWP., ADRIAN, MI – Madison Elementary and Middle Schools received a grade of A on the Mackinac Center’s newly released 2015 Elementary and Middle School Context and Performance Report Card. Additionally, both Madison Middle School and Madison Elementary were ranked in the top 5% of schools classified as located in towns in the state, with the Middle School ranking 3rd and the Elementary ranking 10th.

The A grade recognition was given to the top 10 percent of schools across the state. The report card’s Context and Performance (CAP) Score adjusts the most recent three years of MEAP assessment scores for grades 3-8 based on expected performance according to the socioeconomic status of students in each school. Including this factor provides a more accurate assessment of a school’s performance, since research has shown that student backgrounds can have a large impact on academic performance.

Madison Elementary School:

CAP grade:  A
Rank:  138
Overall percentile score:  93.9%

Madison Middle School:
CAP Grade:  A
Rank:  49
Overall percentile score:  97.8%

“The Mackinac Center’s Performance Report Card for Madison Schools is a testament to the great work our students and staff do each day. We are fortunate to have staff who believe in providing a positive educational environment conducive to student learning and, it is fair to say, that students have responded.”~ Ryan Rowe, Superintendent
